The Buchenwald Memorial published a handbook that listed Palestinian symbols—such as the keffiyeh—as anti-Semitic. Intended to raise awareness among the memorial’s security personnel, the handbook also included items like olive branches and watermelons, as well as what it described as the presumed one-sidedness of statements such as “Ceasefire now.” The memorial later apologized for both the publication and its distribution in a newsletter of the Schleswig-Holstein judiciary, and announced that the handbook would be revised.
