Jan Böhmermann canceled a concert by Chefket that was part of the exhibition Die Möglichkeit der Unvernunft (The Possibility of Irrationality), which he curated at the Haus der Kulturen der Welt (HKW). Böhmermann thus bowed to pressure, particularly from Minister of State for Culture Wolfram Weimer. Weimer cited alleged anti-Semitism on the part of Chefket and accused him of denying Israel's right to exist. Following Böhmermann's decision, other musicians also withdrew from the exhibition. The concert had been scheduled for October 7, 2025.
