On October 18, 2025, during the AStA’s semester opening party at Café KoZ in the Frankfurt Students’ Center (Frankfurter Studierendenhaus), several students were expelled for wearing keffiyehs. Security justified the expulsions by invoking the house rule banning "national symbols" and issued site bans. KoZ, a student-run venue overseen by the AStA, has repeatedly targeted students showing Palestine solidarity, with the “national symbols” rule applied selectively and almost exclusively against Palestine-related symbols.
