Ende Gelände Berlin Cancels Concert by A Lake By The Mõõn due to their Social Media Posts.

Public Statement on Ende Gelände and their silencing and censorship of pro-Palestinian voices.

Ende Gelände Berlin decided to cancel my concert this Saturday, February 24 2024, at their solidarity party at K9 in Berlin due to my posts on Instagram about Palestine.

This is yet another act of silencing and censorship, this time coming from the German far left climate movement. As a migrant artist and activist, I will never let tactics of repression and censorship stop me. This only makes me fiercer and firmer in organizing collectively to end both the occupation of Palestine and the global extractivist apparatus.

It is crystal clear that Germany is complicit in yet another genocide, this time against Palestinians. What’s more disturbing is the use of their past crimes against humanity to justify their complicity in this genocide, and we see this reflected across all of Germany’s political spectrum.

I was to perform a live set at the Ende Gelände solidarity party because I have been trying to get involved in the group and have great admiration for them. As an activist, I salute and share their mission and tactics of mass civil disobedience and sabotage to bring down fossil capitalism. But how is it possible to achieve such a transformation without a decolonial approach? Worldwide we are seeing the same plan from our governments to tackle the climate crisis: extractivism, fascism, increased militarism, increased border violence, neo-liberal politics and imperialism.
