Hafenklang Hamburg cancels concert by GGGOLDDD for their signing of the letter "Musicians for Palestine".

We are GGGOLDDD, a Dutch band. We've toured Germany extensively since 2013. We are also signees of Musicians For Palestine, a letter which calls for a ceasefire. We were booked for a show on May 16, 2024, at Hafenklang in Hamburg, a venue we've played twice before. Due to the delicate situation in Germany and in order to avoid any surprises, we had our agent inform the venue that we have signed Musicians For Palestine. Upon receiving this information, the venue withdrew the booking on February 22, 2024, stating "I / we have decided against it. I'm sorry, but I think it would only lead to conflicts later on anyway, so it's better not to." This surprised us as there were other Musicians For Palestine-acts programmed on the same stage. Having realized this, they replied "[...] that means we'll have to look even more closely in the future," suggesting that it was a mistake that they booked any artists showing solidarity with Palestine and that they will refrain from doing so in the future.
