DHL Closes Bubble’s Paketshop for Hanging Posters in Solidarity with Palestine

I am the business owner of Bubble, a non-binary inclusive CBD and coffee shop on Sonnenallee. I have been working with DHL running a parcel shop (Paketshop) since I opened. At the end of May and beginning of June 2024, I had a lot of antideutsch vandalism on my windows and around five Antideutsche came to my shop. In the same week, I got a call from DHL who confronted me for having political posters and told me that people complained.

A week later, on June 11, 2024, an official from DHL came from Hamburg, especially for me, and was disrespectful to me in front of one client and another person in the shop. He told me that my contract will be canceled, because people complain about my political posters and that DHL doesn't do politics. I am a non-binary person and said to him that DHL does do politics, because they have a rainbow flag on their Instagram.

One week later, I got a letter from DHL saying that the contract for my Paketshop will be canceled on September 30, 2024. However, they already disconnected me from the scanner machine three days later, so that there was no more possibility for me to log into the system. Then I got another letter saying that I have to give back the material (scanner and printer) by July 1, 2024 and that I would have to pay €630 if I don’t give it back.

I returned the material, but got another letter claiming that the pick-up of the material wasn’t possible and that I should now send it to them on my own expenses before July 16. Only when I showed them photos to prove that the pick-up was done, they told me to forget their last letter.
