On November 28, 2025, the LMU Munich was scheduled to host the workshop The Targeting of the Palestinian Academia, where scholars from Al-Quds University in Jerusalem and Birzeit University in Ramallah were to speak about the systematic destruction and obstruction of Palestinian universities and academic life. Shortly before the event, the LMU cancelled it, citing security concerns and doubts about its academic standards.
