In Potsdam-Babelsberg, the documentary Kill Zone: Inside Gaza was scheduled to be screened at the Thalia Cinema. A subsequent discussion was to feature Dr. Tankred Stöbe of the NGO Doctors Without Borders, a recipient of the Federal Cross of Merit, who was to speak about the humanitarian crisis in Gaza. Andreas Büttner, the Anti-Semitism Commissioner for the State of Brandenburg — a government official — subsequently pressured the cinema to cancel the event. The organizers of the screening, the Potsdam for Palestine network, then organized a protest rally against the cancellation. The film was moved to a small café in Potsdam. The Thalia Cinema announced plans to organize a large event on anti-Semitism instead of screening the film.
