On September 22, 2025, Ibrahim Arslan was accused of being “racist” by Matthias Elwardt, the managing director of the Zeise cinemas, after the screening of his documentary Die Möllner Briefe, because he was wearing a T-shirt with the historical map of Palestine. Arslan, a survivor of the Mölln arson attack and an activist for many years against racism and antisemitism, had been invited as a guest to the screening, which recalls the solidarity letters to the victims of the 1992 attack that were never delivered.
