The Maxim Gorki Theater in Berlin canceled the play Minor Detail, based on Adania Shibli’s novel, which had its planned premiere on November 20, 2025. Artistic director Shermin Langhoff and chief dramaturge Johannes Kirsten issued a statement saying: "Due to dynamics and differences within the cast and the artistic team of the production, the artistic director Oliver Frljić [...] does not feel able to continue working on the production." Actors involved in the production noted that the cancellation echoes earlier withdrawn platforms for Shibli, such as the canceled award ceremony at the Frankfurt Book Fair.
